Background Info

 

I had always enjoyed cooking, baking and cake decorating especially when I had my children but these really became an obsession nearly 5 years ago when my husband was diagnosed as coeliac. It became very apparent then that the gluten free food available was generally very expensive but not very satisfying for a very active man who missed cakes, biscuits and other baked goods. I then made it my mission to master cooking and baking gluten free.

 

At that time I was working as a Geography Teacher but decided to leave a year ago when it became too stressful. Whilst I was trying to find another career path, I began baking for the local Fairford Country Market, providing gluten free products and then dairy free when it became apparent there was a need. I was also asked by friends to make decorated birthday celebration cakes as well as making birthday and celebration cakes for my own family. It was then that I realised I had found what I really wanted to do and so Jenny Bakes was born.
